“ Highly recommended. Good food and atmosphere. We have no reservation but they accommodated us ”
“ Absolutely wonderful dinner. Make sure to make a reservation. We had the mixed grill with squid, shrimp and side salad. Superb. If you think America serves large portions, come here. Nice service and great wine list ”
“ I highly recommend that place. The fish was excellent. Service was good and the price was good. The ambience was not my test, but it was good. Definitely I will go back to the restaurant. ”
“ Great place where all the locals gather for lunch. We were pretty much the only English speaking people there, but Rene was so nice at the bar. Brush up on a few verb conjugations and you'll be fine! :) ”
“ Service is always very attentive, the food is phenomenal and the ambiance is warm and friendly. Every time I have been it was a pleasant experience to be around a room full of people, who were enjoying themselves. ”
“ This place is such a cute little restaurant, I met one of the local because I was dining by myself. He told me that this place has been a long run for years and are neighborhoods favorite. The area used to be popular but covid a lot of things closed so the area now only locals go. The service is great, and the food are delicious. The seafood are very fresh and delicious, they specialize in seafood. Highly recommend the risotto, they put cheese in it too. The waiter doesn't speak much English very still very willing to help and recommend what's good. If you eat early it's easy to find table but if you come around 2pm the place is packed ”
“ Perfect casual place to eat homemade spanish food . Excellent service , I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you feel like chatting with neighboors and sharing tips of to do things in town. Recommend the variety plate of pinchos and be open for red wine recommendations. Well deserved tips are cash only! ”
“ We came in on a Friday before 9 and was told it'll be a 20 minute wait. A couple left the bar, so we snagged their spot and order off the full menu from there. The bartender was awesome and very jovial. It made the experience. For food, I ordered the seafood rice and the mussels were amazing. The peas were fresh. Hubs ordered the black risotto. He won! It was very good, with a solid cheese base, with shrimp. The black color is from the squid ink. The food came out relatively quickly. The risotto was quite steamy whereas the seafood rice was warm, maybe having sat a bit. Not sure. Overall, fun space and good service. Tasty food, if you're in the area. Tip, make reservations. There was a good wait as we were wrapping up. ”
“ Excellent place to eat, small but good environment with friendly staff. Great food and Wine selections. ”
“ Very good lunch spot with "tapas" that are on the large side. We arrived at about 1PM on a Friday and the place was almost empty, yet all the tables were reserved, so we sat at the bar. Within 30-45 minutes, the place was packed - so if you want a table, go early or make reservations. The bar was very comfortable, though, with high stools and a good view of all the food coming out of the kitchen. My knowledge of Spanish is pretty rudimentary, so after puzzling over the Spanish menu for a couple minutes, I accepted the offer of an English menu. However, I can read just enough Spanish to realize that most of the "dishes of the day" aren't on the English menu. So - if you want to try what the locals are eating, break out your Spanish-to-English dictionary, amigos. I was feeling brave enough to order off the Spanish menu and chose the peppers stuffed with salmon. It was not exactly what I thought it would be - the dish was served cold, and the red peppers were stuffed with a creamy salmon mixture. I was expecting spicy green pimento peppers stuffed with hot salmon. Part of the adventure of navigating a foreign language, I guess. Not sure I'd order it again, but the dish was very attractive and fresh-tasting. My companion raved about the black risotto he ordered. The wine list is fantastic - I enjoyed a couple glasses of an Argentinian Malbec. I would definitely come back to Tancat with a Spanish-speaking friend. ”
